Happy Monday!! Here’s a recipe for pickled onions! Woohoo!
🌼 INGREDIENTS 🌼
1.5 cups apple cider vinegar (or white)
1.5 cups water
1.5 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons cane or brown sugar
3-4 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
2 tsp black peppercorn (optional)
1/2 large purple onion, sliced
Jar for pickling
🌼 RECIPE 🌼
1️⃣ Fill your jar with purple onion pieces and cilantro.
2️⃣ Put vinegar, water, salt, sugar, garlic, and peppercorns into a saucepan on medium heat.
3️⃣ Mix well and wait until mixture comes to a simmer.
4️⃣ Once it has simmered for 1-2 mins, take the mixture off of the heat.
5️⃣ Carefully pour mixture into your jar with onions (I recommend doing this part over your sink).
6️⃣ Wait until liquid has cooled down, and then store in the fridge overnight for about 8-12 hours.
7️⃣ Enjoy the next morning; the longer it sits in your fridge, the stronger the flavor will get!
